1A9722-01 is a low voltage differential signal (LVDS) transceiver designed to convert single-ended signal to low voltage differential signal. The device also allows communication signals to be sent and received over several meters of copper wire using a low voltage differential signal. It is used in many fields, due to its data rate of up to 1.25Gbps (at a typical swing of 200mV) and its ability to connect over several meters.

Application Field

1A9722-01 is widely used in many communication interface applications such as SONET, DVI-D, SDI, Ethernet, HDMI, SATA and USB.

In computer application, it acts as the transmitter and receiver of the Video Graphics Array (VGA) port to provide digital video signals from computers to monitors, projectors and TV. It is also used in various automotive applications, such as in the vehicle’s entertainment system for audio and video signals.

The device is also used in industrial automation, sensors, motion controllers and test equipment interface. 1A9722-01 also can be used in aerospace, military and medical applications.

Working Principle

1A9722-01 consists of a differential driver and a differential receiver. The signal is driven by a differential driver and transmitted over a twisted pair or coaxial cable.

The differential receiver senses any signal variation in the signal line and changes information content on the input of the receiver. The signal is then passed through the receiver\'s output transistors and converted into a single-ended signal. 1A9722-01 accepts a wide range of different input signals, from low to high level single-ended signals and low voltage differential signals (LVDS).

The signal output from 1A9722-01is a low-voltage (200mV typical) differential signal which can travel over twisted pair and coaxial cable. This signal is immune to common mode and normal mode noise, and is ideal for applications which require high speed, low noise and low power.

1A9722-01 provides a variety of protection functions, such as over temperature protection and over voltage protection. It is also capable of operating in extreme and harsh conditions, while minimizing power consumption.
