The 1N6336 is a single zener diode available in through-hole technology for general purpose applications. This diode can be used for stabilizing the voltage.The principle of operation of this diode is the same as other diodes. When an external voltage is applied to the anode of the diode, a current passes through it. If the applied voltage is more than the breakdown voltage of the diode, then the current will continue to pass through the diode. The breakdown voltage of this diode is 8.2V.The 1N6336 diode is mainly used in voltage clipping and regulation applications. These applications require a stable voltage to be maintained. As the load current increases, the voltage across the load decreases. This can cause a voltage droop. Using this diode, the voltage droop can be reduced and the output voltage can be stabilized in these applications.This diode can also be used in the protection of electrical circuits. If the voltage applied to the circuit exceeds the breakdown voltage, then the diode will start to conduct and the excess current will dissipate.The 1N6336 is also used as a temperature sensor. In this case, the diode is attached to the top of a metal strip that acts as a heat sink. As the temperature of the heat sink increases, the voltage across the diode drops and the current passing through the diode increases. This change in current can be measured and used for temperature sensing applications.In addition to the above applications, the 1N6336 diode can also be used in DC power supplies, amplifier circuits, and in linear regulation circuits.
