Working Principle
The 1V5KE440A is a TVS-diode based on metal-oxide varistor (MOV) technology. The construction of the 1V5KE440A consists of a silicon diode, an MOV in a ceramic housing, and an auxiliary diode. MOVs absorb the voltage spikes and current surges and limit their effect on the connected circuit. The MOV is connected in parallel to the diode, and the diode is connected in series to the auxiliary diode. Together, these components form the 1V5KE440A TVS-diode.
