Hour Meters

Hour meters are panel meters used to measure and record hours of operation. They are mainly used to record the total running hours of a machine, which helps determine maintenance scheduling and predict when parts or engines will need to be replaced. Hour meters are often used for monitoring usage and rate tracking in industrial applications as well.

Hour meters typically operate on an internal battery, which allows them to record the running hours of a machine even when the machine or power supply is stopped. The hour meter will keep track of the total number of hours the machine is in use via a counter. Timers

Timers are panel meters used to monitor the passage of time and are primarily used for setting time intervals. They’re most often used for detecting the duration of a process or the lapsed time between events. Timers are used in wide variety of applications, such as industrial processes (in petrochemicals, HVAC, and process control), automotive applications (for setting the intervals of fuel injections and ignition points), and home appliances (such as a washing machine timer).

The basic principle of a timer is that it calculates the time difference between a start and end signal. Many timers are programmable and allow the user to set a specific time interval. Some timers also have multiple time settings that can be selected with a switch. Timers can be analog or digital, and some digital timers include additional features such as logic inputs/outputs, alarm outputs, and communication protocols.
