2168 Application Field and Working Principle
The 2168 series of optical sensors are available in both short range and long range models. The short range model has an adjustable focus lens which allows for precise measurement of up to 10,000 incident light points. The long range model has a beam angle of up to 105 degrees and is ideal for scanning applications. Both models are designed to work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Additionally, the sensors are robust and resistant to vibration and corrosion.
The working principle of these sensors is based on the principle of photoconductivity. When incident light hits the detector, it causes a decrease in the resistance of the detector, thus allowing a current to flow. The amount of current is proportional to the intensity of the light.
