23/.3LD is an abbreviation for 5 sections of 72mm (2.83") solid state neon lamps. These lamps are used for decorative, aesthetic, and lighting purposes. Working Principle of Incandescent 23/.3LD Lamps

Incandescent 23/.3LD lamps work by passing an electric current through a filament (usually made of tungsten) which is sealed in a vacuum or an inert gas. When the current passes through the tungsten filament, the high resistance of the filament causes it to heat up, reaching temperatures of up to 3,000 K. Once the filament gets hot enough, it will glow and emit visible light.

Working Principle of Neon 23/.3LD Lamps

Neon 23/.3LD lamps use an arc discharge to generate light. A neon tube sealed in a glass enclosure is filled with an inert gas such as xenon, argon or krypton and connected to a low voltage DC power supply. When the power is applied, the gas inside the tube ionizes and the electric arc is established between the two electrodes. This arc spreads along the length of the tube and produces a bright, consistent arc with maximum efficiency.

Advantages and Disadvantages of 23/.3LD Lamps

The most important advantage of 23/.3LD lamps is the low electric consumption and high efficiency of generating bright light. They also produce very little noise, which makes them ideal for applications where sound levels are important. Furthermore, 23/.3LD lighting systems are very easy to install, maintain and repair.However, they do have some drawbacks.
