The 24AA08H-I/P is a serial EEPROM that combines much of the standard features of two popular memory solutions - the EEPROM and the Flash memory. It has 128 bits of memory with a maximum write speed of 15mA and can store up to 32 devices. all in a small 8-pin package, making it suitable for devices needing external memory such as microcontrollers.

Working Principle

The 24AA08H-I/P uses an internal EEPROM that can be written to and read from. Its data memory is organized into 8 bytes, each of which can be written to with a write cycle time of up to 15mA. The device also has an address bus, data bus and control bus, allowing it to be easily connected to an external microcontroller. To write data to the memory, an external microcontroller must first send an address command, followed by the data that is to be stored. The memory must then be cycled, which will program the data into the memory.

To read data from the memory, the same process as used for writing is followed. The external microcontroller must first send an address command, followed by a read command. The memory will then respond with the contents of the memory location specified by the address command.
