24AA16-E/SN

Microchip\'s 24AA16-E/SN is a 16K-bit Serial EEPROM memory that is used in a wide range of applications. It offers low power consumption, fast data access times, endurance up to 10 million write cycles and immunity to damage from radiated electromagnetic fields. 24AA16-E/SN memory is commonly used in white goods, automotive, industrial and medical applications.

The 24AA16-E/SN works by utilizing an electrically erasable, nonvolatile floating-gate memory array. It has 16,384 bits of memory organized as 1,000 pages of 16 bytes each. A single byte memory location can be written or read in less than 1 millisecond. This function allows the device to enter a low-power state when it is not being used, and then automatically resume normal operation when an activity is detected. This reduces the power consumption when the device is idle and increases its reliability.

Another feature of the 24AA16-E/SN is the optional I2C Bus. The I2C bus offers data transfers up to 400 kilobits/sec, and is capable of supporting up to 8 master devices on a single bus. It also provides interconnectivity between multiple 24AA16-E/SN devices, allowing data to be shared between them.
