While it does not have a separate SRAM memory, the data can be stored in the EEPROM locations or used as the RAM.
The underlying technology behind the chip’s capability is an I²C bus compatible protocol. This allows for fast and reliable communication between the chip and the host system. This is achieved by using a Slave Address, which indicates the target address on the chip, and a Data Address, which indexes the location in the chip. The protocol also provides an acknowledge bit, which tells the controller that the data was successfully exchanged.
The chip also features internal Write Controllers that provide better reliability by organizing and hashing the flash data, physical sectors, and memory pages. This also minimizes the errors that can occur when writing data to the chip’s memory.
