2526 and 5003UG rectangular connectors are members of the radio frequency connector family. These products are used in a number of industries including telecommunications, consumer electronics, military, medical, satellites, and industrial equipment fields. They are typically employed in rf signal and interconnect applications where superior shielding performance, electrical integrity and robustness are required.

The primary differences between the two types of connectors are their form factor, which relates to the type and number of pins they have. The 2526 connector has two rows of pins, which are numbered 1-20, and is designed for signal transfer at higher frequencies than the 5003UG connector. The 5003UG connector has three rows of pins, which are numbered 1-50, and is designed to accommodate both power and signal transfer at a range of frequencies.

The pin arrangement of the 2526 connector has been optimized to provide maximum benefit from its contact layout. The 2526 connector has an alternating pin pattern,pinstrap pin, shield pin. This alternating pin arrangement provides improved contact area and superior RF performance. The 5003UG connector has a similar arrangement, but it has much more metal in its construction to provide additional shielding and improved signal integrity.

Both the 2526 and 5003UG connectors offer excellent shielding performance. The 2526 connector offers a shunt shielding system which enables it to reach a VSWR of 1.30 at 1GHz, while the 5003UG connector offers a trifolding shielding system which enables it to reach a VSWR of 1.25 at 3GHz. This shielding is designed to reduce interference, ensuring that signals remain at their desired levels.

The 2526 and 5003UG connectors both feature gold-plating on their contact surfaces and on the mating terminals, for superior corrosion resistance and low signal degradation. The gold-plating also ensures a good electrical connection between the two parts. The connectors use an elastomeric insulator for a secure fit and good electrical insulation. The construction of the connectors and the components used in their fabrication are designed for a long-term performance and are resistant to humidity and vibration.
