The 25C320-I/SN is a memory application field with a 3V working voltage, which is effective in controlling the way data is stored. It is designed to act as a non-volatile type of memory, which is able to retain data during a power outage or shutdown. The 25C320-I/SN uses a synchronous write process which takes three clock cycles — following the placing of the command — to write data into the memory cells. The time taken varies depending on the voltage being used. It takes 5 millisecond to write 0.5 Kbytes of data. However, the time taken to write 0.5 Kbytes of data can be as low as 3 milliseconds when the voltage used is 3.3 volts.

The 25C320-I/SN has a unique feature of read after write function which allows the read cycle to proceed immediately after the write cycle. This feature provides for two-way communication between the memory and the controller.

The 25C320-I/SN also includes an internal address counter and an internal data latch, which allows for data to be written as a stream without the need for an address refresh command. This helps speed up the data transfer between the two devices.

The 25C320-I/SN also provides a host of additional features such as industrial temperature range, the ability to self-erase and reset, and page write capability. Other notable features include 50,000 program/erase cycles and a data retention period of up to 20 years.
