25H07-660 Application Field and Working Principle
The 25H07-660 fuse is a medium duty technical component of the electrical and specialty fuses section. It is designed to protect against abnormally high currents which would otherwise damage a larger electrical component. This type of fuse is commonly used in low-voltage power supplies, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), battery back up systems, and UPS controllers.
The 25H07-660 fuse uses a glass tube design which allows the fuse to break at a predetermined level of current and voltage. The lens at the end of the glass envelope serves as a window to view the status of the fuse. When operational, the glass window will be illuminated green, while a blown fuse will appear black.
The fuse can be reset by turning off the power source, then pressing the reset button. This will set the fuse into its working condition again. However, it is important to remember that resetting the fuse will not protect the affected electrical component and a replacement fuse should be installed.
The 25H07-660 fuse has a current rating of up to 6 amps and a voltage rating of 660 volts. The fuse also has a response time of less than one second and is UL Listed and CSA Certified. This means that the fuse has met all the necessary safety standards for safe installation.
The working principle of the 25H07-660 fuse is as follows. When the electric current passing through the fuse exceeds the set limit, the resistor material inside the fuse body heats up. The heat generated causes the filler material inside the fuse coating to expand and force the fuse window open. This sends an electrical signal which trips the breaker, halting the flow of current to the affected component.
The use of medium duty fuses like the 25H07-660 are an important part of a complete circuit protection system. It is important to ensure that all circuit components are regularly checked and maintained for correct operation and performance. By doing this, the risk of an electrical fire, or any other type of hazard, is drastically reduced.
