A film capacitor is an electrical passive component which mainly consists of a thin plastic or paper film as the dielectric material and two electrode layers for two ends. The most common type is foil film capacitor which mainly utilizes polyester, polypropylene, polycarbonate, and other films as dielectric materials. With very low dissipation factor about 0.0002, it has excellent AC characteristics and remarkable ability of self-healing, meaning that when an overload or over voltage fault occurs, the capacitor will partially recover the performance through the following processes of internal disruption, oxidation and shortening of metal electrodes to restore its electrical performance. It is also able to suppress high frequency noise, which contributes to the capacitor\'s stable running capability.Furthermore, 265LC2400K5HM6 has a high working voltage rating of 2400Vdc(voltage). This means that the capacitor can withstand the stress of a high voltage without broken or burned. It also has a long life with a life rate of up to 80,000 hours at the opening voltage of 2.2Uf(frequency).Finally, 265LC2400K5HM6 offers a wide range of working temperature, from -40°C to +105°C. It, hence, is suitable to work in quite a wide range of applications where temperatures vary greatly, no matter in the cold winter or the hot summer. Working Principle

The operating principle of a film capacitor is to convert alternating current(AC) into direct current(DC) to store energy and reduce the voltage. This is achieved by the capacitor\'s roles of converting AC into low voltage DC, reducing voltage and storing energy when the current flows through a capacitor\'s internal electrodes and the dielectric film. When a voltage is applied to the capacitor, if an electric field is established in the internal dielectric medium, some of the charges will be attracted to the electrodes. This attraction of charges, together with the dielectric property of the dielectric medium, results in the storage of energy.
