Magnetic levitation or maglev is a method of suspending objects in air, by using a combination of magnetic fields generated by electromagnets, and making use of the magnetic effect of a permanent magnet. With maglev, the object falls freely and can hover above the ground with the help of magnetic forces. It has a wide range of applications in transportation, medical, manufacturing and other industries.

Working Principle

Maglev works by suspending an object in the air with the help of a number of magnets, which create a repelling magnetic field around the object.
