When the switch is opened, the circuit is interrupted and no current can flow. The voltage and current control are done with a simple gate terminal, when the gate terminal voltage is HIGH, the MOSFET is ‘on’ and a current passes through. When the gate voltage is LOW, the MOSFET is ‘off’ and no current can flow.The solid state relay also contains a small gate current which is fixed and independent from the load current. When the gate current is low, the power MOSFET is ‘off’. When the gate current rises, it begins to counteract the load current, and if the gate current is setting high enough, the power MOSFET is ‘on’ and current passes through.
