2BCLS-6R Working Principle
The 2BCLS-6R is a dual-element, time-delay fuse. This means that it is composed of two different elements connected in series. The first element and the second element are placed in series and in the same direction. When the current drops below the trip value, the first element opens almost immediately, protecting the fuse from very short circuits or ground faults. The second element, on the other hand, is designed to reach a larger current limit than the first element. This higher limit protects the system from longer lasting overloads, however the second element has a slower response time of about 10 cycles.
The fuse also comes with a ceramic body, which is insulated on the outside and connected internally to the electrical ground. This helps protect the fuse’s contacts from high voltages by dissipating the energy away from them. The ceramic body also contributes to the overall strength of the insulation.
The 2BCLS-6R is designed for use in high voltage and high current applications and can protect against over-currents up to 6,000A. It is capable of withstanding short duration faults up to 25kA, and withstands normal load current up to 4,000A. The fuse is also designed to be dust-proof and water-resistant, providing superior protection in any kind of environment.
