30KPA160CA_HRA is a low capacitance TVS diode designed to protect high-speed data line with data rates up to 12Gbps from ESD, EFT and surge faults. It is used in applications such as digital line protection, I/O protection, memory protection, and system level protection.

30KPA160CA_HRA provides bidirectional protection against ESD and EFT up to level of IEC61000-4-2 (ESD) ±30kV (air/contact discharge) and IEC61000-4-4 (EFT) 40A (5/50ns). In addition, it offers protection up to lightning surge level 8/20μs 30A 8KV. Converter modules are available in a range of packages, from lead free 3x3 8-Pin SOT-563 to lead free 5x6 18-Pin SOT-897.

The working principle of TVS diodes is based on avalanche breakdown. When a voltage higher than its breakdown voltage is applied to the diode, it starts to conduct current at a sharply increasing rate until it reaches its maximum current rating.
