Snap Action, Limit Switches

The 311SX2-H58 is an economical “snap action” limit switch made by Phoenix Contact, suitable for most general purpose applications. The durable outer case, dust and water resistant, have a double insulation design and are ready for mounting. It has a high electrical reliability, offering 2 million mechanical operations.

Application

The 311SX2-H58 can be used for industrials applications such as detection of EOD (End of the Disc), for machine or vehicle motion control and for positioning tasks. It is also suitable for home automation use in safety or protection circuits.

Working Principle:

The 311SX2-H58 limit switch has an actuating lever fitted with a roller, spring and adjustable extended arm, capable of transmitting its linear motion to an electric contact when the actuator is engaged. The actuating lever is designed in a way that it will snap the roller into the contact’s position. When the lever is released, it will move back automatically due to the spring’s tension, causing the contact’s separation.

Construction:

The 311SX2-H58 is a low-voltage device with a die cast zinc alloy body that has 10,000 M Ω insulation resistance. The case has 6 pin terminals made of silver-plated copper alloy. The operating temperature range is -25°C to +60°C so it is suited for indoor and outdoor use.
