Working Principle
31270 Terminal Ring Connectors use a locking combination of multiple parts including an external shell, contact, wire, and seal. The external shell is constructed from either an aluminum alloy or composite and is designed to provide electrical and EMI shielding, mechanical strain relief, and environmental protection. The secure connection is made by a circular seal and flexible clamping ring which tightly crimps the seal to the shell and heat-shrinks onto the seal and wire. The contact is a 6-finger type, spring-type contact with excellent retention force, insulation resistance and contact resistance.

The advantages of the 31270 Terminal Ring Connector include excellent electrical and EMI shielding, fast and easy installation, minimum size and weight, and low cost. The disadvantages include that it can be difficult to disconnect and difficult to access wiring after installation.
