Working Principle

The 3299X-1-202 is a trimmer potentiometer that terminates into three different terminals. An oscillating voltage is applied between the left and right terminals while the output is taken from the center terminal. Vacillating the voltage between the left and right terminals will directly create an oscillating voltage between the center terminal

The voltage can be adjusted by rotating the knob located at the top of the 3299X-1-202. Pivoting the knob causes a mechanical disconnect between the left and right terminals, which is then connected by a wiper brush at varying degrees of distance.

The larger the disparity between the length of the left and right terminals, the higher the voltage supplied to the center terminal, creating a variable voltage output dependent on the level of displacement. The spacious working range allows for a large or small voltage to be derived from the center terminal, therefore allowing for the adjustment of sound levels or the supply of current to the device.
