3405.0169.24 Application Field and Working Principle

The 3405.0169.24 fuse is a ceramic tube type reverse-acting rapid-action fuse specially designed for the protection of servo motor, servo drive, three-phase bridge rectifier, motor soft starter, and forward and reverse motor. The fuse has a rated current of 6A and a rated voltage of 500-690V.

Field of Application

The 3405.0169.24 fuse is applicable for protection of wiring and components in power electrical, control, and coordination systems, as well as in household and similar installation. AC application includes non-motor motors, rectifiers, DC machine vibration equipment, computer power switching regulators and rectifier filters.

Working Principle

When an electrical fault occurs, an overcurrent passes through the fuse element. The element heats up and deforms, breaking the current. The breaking of the current eliminates the fault and therefore directly protects the safety of the system. The melting and breaking of the fuse element is caused by the damage of the diamond at the point where the fuse element passes. When an overload or short circuit occurs, the spark between the brittle diamond material evaporates, and the fuse element melts and breaks. During normal working, the fuse element is not burned. The melting breaks the circuit in an instant, avoiding damage to the system due to the direct action of the overcurrent.
