36CAV4 Application Field and Working Principle

The 36CAV4 ultra high voltage current-limiting fuses (abbreviated as UHVCLF) are dual-element, time-delay, current-limiting fuses developed by the United States Eaton Corporation. It primarily focuses on ultra-high voltage application fields under 145 kV. The nominal voltage of the fuse is 66 kV, the maximum voltage is up to 145 kV, and the current limiting range is 14 kA to 85 kA.

The 36CAV4 is made up of two fuse elements: a body sack and an upper tube. The body sack contains a copper shell, which consists of a shell, two insulators, sealing materials, and an arcing contact. The upper tube contains a contact and a short-circuit connection and holds the melting alloy and the flux. The 36CAV4 fuse is filled with distilled oil.

Working Principle
