Rotary Potentiometers and Rheostats
A rotary potentiometer, or rotary pot, is a variable resistor that consists of a disc or cylinder with a resistance element connected across it. It has a spindle, or shaft, mounted on a base and usually a electro-mechanical control knob to rotate the shaft.
