The 3M AB5010HF 0.5" SQUARE-50/PK shield is constructed from a variety of multi-layer composite materials that can achieve a high level of attenuation for both EMI and RFI frequencies. The inner core of the shield is made from a non-conductive substrate while the outer layers are made from a combination of conductive materials, such as steel or tin, to provide a high level of impedance and noise blocking. The design utilizes a patented wedge pattern which ensures that any noise waves, regardless of frequency, incident upon the shield will be dissipated through the apertures in the shield, while still providing the necessary shielding.
