It is primarily designed to prevent leakage from an RFI-sensitive area to a non-sensitive area, as well as to absorb leakage from non-sensitive areas to sensitive areas. It also offers some protection from external RFI sources.The AB5050 is ideal for use in medical imaging, radar systems, industrial production areas, military installations, aerospace, communications installations, satellites, and secure areas. It is also well suited for use as a chute, duct or enclosure lining and is optimized to deal with complex, multiple reflections encountered in such environments. When used as a chute or duct liner, the product offers electromagnetic interference attenuation up to 54 decibels at 10GHz.The 3M AB5050 4.13" X 15M is designed to meet the stringent requirements of the European Parliament and Council Directive 1999/5/EC (R&TTE Directive) and is therefore suitable for use where basic RFI/EMI protection is required. The product meets the requirements of the EN 55022 class B shielding standard when installed over the specified area.The product’s lightweight, soft construction makes it ideal for fast and easy installation, and its semi-rigid design enables it to be easily contoured to meet exact application requirements. It is also suitable for harsh indoor/outdoor environments and is UL 94HF listed for flame retardancy.Due to its unique design, the 3M AB5050 4.13" X 15M is highly effective as a shielding and absorbing material in a wide range of applications.
