The 402F3601XIAT application field is divided into automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics. It is based on its superior properties—SiC (Silicon Carbide) and Al2O3 (Alumina Oxide)—of high-frequency, high-voltage, high-power, and high-temperature applications for crystal oscillator solutions. The oscillator operates based on quartz crystal oscillator (QCO) technology, which utilizes a pure quartz crystal that is operated in a series RLC (Resistance–Inductance–Capacitance) circuit. The oscillators use a variety of quartz crystals, determined by the application, to generate a specific frequency upon the application of an appropriate voltage.

The 402F3601XIAT series is specially designed for automotive and secure communications applications. It uses a SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) crystal, with a frequency range from 10 MHz to 2.4 GHz. It is designed for high operational voltage and high stability in order to ensure vehicle and secure communications performance. In addition, the crystal is encapsulated with integrated LEDs that can be used to indicate status.

In terms of working principle, the crystal oscillator produces an output frequency that is related to the natural resonance frequency of the quartz crystal. The crystal is mounted between two electrodes and the vibrational energy is applied on the crystal. This energy creates a stress on the crystalline structure and the quartz begins to vibrate.
