Working Principle

The 4116R-1-361 is a high-precision, single-in-line through-hole mounted resistor network which can be used either as a voltage divider or as a temperature sensor. It is constructed of a strongly bonded array of SMT resistors. The two most important characteristics of this type of network are its very low resistance precision and high temperature stability. The resistor network can be used for various applications, the most common of which is for voltage divider purposes. In this approach, the 4116R-1-361 is connected to two voltage sources: one at the input end and the other at the output end. The resistor network then divides the input voltage proportionally between the two voltage sources, allowing the user to easily regulate the voltage level and accurately measure the input voltage level.The 4116R-1-361 is also used as a temperature sensor, in which it is connected to an amplifier circuit. The temperature coefficient of the resistor network changes a voltage drop across the amplifier circuit. This change can then be captured and used to accurately measure the temperature of the environment.
