Working Principle

The 416F370X3IDR crystal oscillator IC works on the principle of electrostatic coupling between quartz crystal and two electrodes. It converts the electrical signals into mechanical vibrations and sends them back to the electric circuit. The frequency of oscillation is determined by the length, width, and thickness of the crystal. This frequency is determined during the manufacturing process and can be slightly altered by the use of an external capacitor.

The oscillations generated by the crystal causes the control circuit to regulate itself, which creates a stable oscillation frequency that can be used to drive other electric circuits.
