A visual indicator is used to ensure that the contact is properly aligned and that the contact is tight.

The post-compression stage consists of two steps: first, the handles are opened and the contact is positioned into the jaws, and second, the handles are locked into place using the locking collar. At this point, the contact is secure and the connection is complete.
