The 485800-5 series of FFCs and FPCs are designed specifically for use in wire-to-board and board-to-board electrical connections. The 485800-5 series features two-position unshrouded contact housings with insulation displacement contact (IDC) contacts for connection to discrete wires. The 485800-5 series contacts are rated for up to 2.5 Amps, 250 volts, and feature a zinc alloy shell and UL94V-2 grade thermoplastic insulation. The 485800-5 series contact has a flange that provides vibration and shock protection to the precision-machined, reliable IDC contacts.

The 485800-5 series contact is simple to install and easy to use. The contact body is loaded into the housing and the contact flange is pressed down onto the circuit board. When a mating connector is inserted into the housing, the flange holds the contact securely in place, creating a secure electrical connection.
