This fuse utilizes an outer tubular body for its contact areas. The outer body bears the full rated current and also helps to develop an arc when opening the circuit by fusing the contact elements. The fusible wire used is a water-cooled material, which can withstand high maximal current ratings without damage to the surrounding conductive material. Additionally, this fuse does not require additional mounting hardware and is encased in a separate molded enclosure, making it easy to install without extra labour.

When in operation, 50NHG02B provides superior switching performance with a quicker response time over a wide voltage range of up to 300VAC/DC. This type of fuse is used for application in a range of industrial motor control equipment such as AC variable speed drives, frequency inverters, industrial process controllers, and high power motors.
