Fixed Inductors
Inductors are passive electrical components that store energy in the form of a magnetic field. Fixed inductors, also known as non-variable inductors, are used in electrical design and manufacturing. Fixed inductors are built to have a single inductance value and can either be a single device or a device in a group of multiple devices. The inductance value determines the ability of a device to limit current by providing resistance to its flow.
5250-RC application field and working principle
The 5250-RC Fixed Inductor product line is a range of high quality parts providing a wide range of application use. It is suitable for use in radio frequency and switched mode power supplies, DC-DC converters and pulsed application. The 5250-RC is designed for use in consumer electronics, telecommunication and automotive electronics, among other industries.
The 5250-RC is a fixed inductor with a fixed inductance value and an operating temperature range between -40°C and 125°C. The inductor is made using an iron-based core and has an internal resistance that is typically between 900 milliohms and 6,000 milliohms. This low resistance allows the device to be used in high frequency designs. The maximum current rating is 4 Amps, with a maximum voltage rating of 100 Volts.
Fixed inductors work by inducing a voltage across the cores of the inductor when current passes through the coil. This leads to the accumulation of energy in the form of a magnetic field. The voltage varies in proportion to the rate of change of current, and resistance of this manner produces an inductive reactance that opposes changes in the current.
The 5250-RC consists of two core winding, a primary winding and a secondary winding. The primary winding is the one most often used, providing the stored energy and resistance. It is wound around a core based on ferrite or permalloy, with two or more turns of wire. The secondary winding is used to provide a higher voltage or current output than the primary winding. This winding is generally wound around a core composed of a ferrite material.
