Oscillators
Oscillators are electronic circuits that generate repeating waveforms. These repeating waveforms can be used for timekeeping, frequency control, signal generation, signal modulation, and many other applications. Oscillators come in a variety of topologies, including digital, analog, and hybrid designs. The 531SB100M000DGR oscillator is a hybrid oscillator designed to provide highly stable timekeeping and frequency control. It combines the best of both digital and analog design to achieve a low power, high accuracy clock generator.The 531SB100M000DGR oscillator is spread spectrum compensated and offers 0.05ppm stability over operating temperatures. This device is capable of generating a clock frequency range from 0.4kHz to 200MHz and has a broad operating voltage range of 2.4V to 5.5V. The 531SB100M000DGR also features an integrated watchdog timer and programmable amplitude control. Applications for the 531SB100M000DGR include high speed signal processing, timing synchronization, digital signal generation, and crystal oscillator replacement. The 531SB100M000DGR oscillator works by combining a temperature compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) with a digital phase-locked loop (PLL). The TCXO generates a reference signal which is then amplified and filtered to produce a stable clock signal. This clock signal is then fed into a digital PLL. The PLL compares the input clock signal with a divided version of the reference signal, and generates corrections to keep the two signals in sync. The PLL then outputs a corrected clock signal. The 531SB100M000DGR oscillator can also be programmed with an external frequency trimming system. This system can be used to fine-tune the oscillator to obtain higher accuracy or to compensate for aging and temperature drift. In addition, the 531SB100M000DGR oscillator can be programmed to limit the amplitude of the output signal.
