Each of the 5470/30C SL001 cables contains an insulated conductor, an insulated circuit forming wire, and a 7” long drain wire terminated with a pigtail. The drain wire provides protection from short circuits and helps dissipate static build up. The insulated conductor and circuit forming wire are encased in a metal sleeve or shield for protection from electric shock and interference. The cables also come with an easy-to-install Gama ark® connector to ensure a secure connection.

The working principle of the 5470/30C SL001 cables is based on a voltage-sensing function. When electricity is supplied to a number of conductors in the form of an alternating current, the wire or cables will produce a secondary voltage. This secondary voltage will react with the neutral conductor to create a line current, which is essentially a measure of the voltage. As the current increases, the resistance produces an amount of heat and the temperature of the conductor will increase. If the temperature increases beyond the safety limit, a circuit breaker will trip and prevent an overload.
