557G-03LF is a crystal clock oscillator (XCO) module specifically designed for automotive applications. This XCO module has been tested and fulfills the requirements of the AEC-Q200 standard for use in automotive applications. The 557G-03LF module integrates the quartz crystal oscillator, internal thermal compensation and various peripheral circuitries into a 5-pin rubber package to provides a highly stable, reliable, and rugged source of frequency control.
The 557G-03LF module provides multiple oscillator output frequencies in the range of 10MHz - 50MHz in a single package size. The XCO is designed such that the output characteristics as frequency, supply current, and rise/fall times are customizable to meet stringent timing requirements within the automotive applications. The circuit is built with EMI suppression components and built-in ESD protection that meets automotive requirements.
The 557G-03LF XCO module\'s primary application field is the automotive industry. It is specifically designed to meet the needs of applications such as infotainment systems, powertrain management, safety and security systems, and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). The module has also been tested to meet stringent AEC-Q200 standards for ensuring performance and reliability in automotive applications.
Working Principle
The working principle of the 557G-03LF XCO module is based on the quartz crystal oscillator. The quartz crystal oscillator is a resonant circuit that is comprised of two plates of quartz crystal material that are separated by a dielectric. The two plates are electrically connected to electrodes that form the circuit. The quartz crystal plates when supplied with an external signal will oscillate at a specific frequency determined by the equation below.
F = 1/2π(1/C)√ (A/Vm)2,
where F is the oscillation frequency, C is the capacitance between the plates, A is the area of the plates, and Vm is the drive voltage. Once the quartz crystal is oscillating, it is subjected to feedback from a loop of components that are triggered by the oscillation frequency and then used to amplify and maintain the oscillation.
The 557G-03LF module features a 48Hz to 50MHz output frequency range and a small size. It has built-in EMI suppression components and ESD protection, and also features a high stability, low noise, and fast rise/fall time characteristics while maintaining low power consumption.
The module is designed to provide wide frequency range selection and accurate frequency control. It is built with an optimized circuit topology that includes temperature compensation for improved stability over a temperature operating range. The module is able to provide very low EMI which is useful for meeting stringent automotive standards. The built-in ESD protection also helps improve the performance and reliability of the module.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the 557G-03LF XCO module is a highly stable, reliable, and rugged source of frequency control specifically designed for automotive applications. Its wide output frequency range, low power consumption, and EMI suppression components make it ideal for use in infotainment systems, powertrain management, safety and security systems, and advanced driver-assistance systems. The module has been specifically tested and certified to meet the AEC-Q200 standard for automotive applications. This XCO module utilizes a resonant quartz crystal circuit combined with an optimized circuit topology and temperature compensation to ensure a high stability and accuracy over the operating temperature range.
