They are also used in printed circuit board design, where they can provide a stable and reliable connection between parts, as well as protection from overvoltage and electromagnetic interference.The main purpose of Fixed Inductors is to reduce the DC current passing through them. This is done by creating a magnetic field that stores energy and releases it in the form of a counter-electromotive force that opposes the flow of current. When an AC current passes through a Fixed Inductor, the counter-electromotive force increases the electric field in the windings, resulting in an increased inductance.The number of turns of wire, the type of core material used, and the shape of the inductor all influence the inductance or “gain” of the component. Some of the core materials used for Fixed Inductors include ferrite, powdered iron, and air core. The physical size of the component can also affect its performance, with smaller components providing higher magnetic flux densities.The working principle of Fixed Inductors is relatively simple. When a current flows through the inductor it induces a stronger magnetic field in the core material.
