Indicators of Fuse Operation
The 5BHCL-450E fuse is designed to detect excessive current flow and open the circuit when the current reaches a predetermined value. When the fuse detects the current, it will create a sound, an electric spark, and/or a visible glow in the fuse link. This indicates that the fuse has been activated and must be replaced before further damage to equipment is done.
Application Field
The 5BHCL-450E fuse is used in a variety of applications, including home appliances, office equipment, medical equipment, and many other items that require current protection. It is also suitable for use in main and branch circuits, switchgear, and distribution boxes. The fuse is suitable for up to 125A operation in up to 600V circuit with a maximum interrupting rating of 10,000A at 250V.
Working Principle
The 5BHCL-450E fuse works by means of the Joule heating effect, which states that when current passes through a conductor, it produces a certain amount of heat. When the current rises to a certain level, the temperature of the conductor and the surrounding area rises as well. When the temperature of the conductor reaches the melting point of the metal in the fuse, it will melt and disrupt the circuit, thus protecting the equipment.
The 5BHCL-450E fuse has an epoxy sealing, which prevents moisture from entering the unit. This is important as moisture can greatly reduce the effectiveness of the fuse. Additionally, the fuse is also designed with an indicator flag that shows when the fuse has been activated. This allows for monitoring and replacement of the fuse in a safe and timely manner.
