Discrete LED indication is most often used in applications such as control/power status display and light level/temperature monitoring. It often consists of several LEDs which are usually connected in series or parallel. The working principle behind the 5SUGC indication system is quite simple. The system starts with the power line being connected to the power supply. The power supply then provides power to the ground, control and LED lines. When the control line is set to logic 1, the LEDs will all be set to green (the default color). When the logic of the control line is set to logic 0, the LEDs will begin to change colors. Depending on the logic level of the control line, the LEDs will display different colors, indicating different conditions.
