The spider base has a formed insulation strip, which provides protection against accidental contact with the parts when disengaged. It also includes a ring of connection pins, which are mechanically connected to the mating parts when in the engaged position. The lid has a pair of removable contact spring fingers with positioning lugs that are used to support the contact spring. It also has a holding base with molded into it from the insulation strip with metal rings at both ends.The working principle of the 6160.0012 power entry connector is straightforward. Firstly, the lid is removed from the spider base and the contact spring is inserted into the positioning lugs. The contact spring has a series of contact pins arranged in a spiral shape, which will engage with the pins of the spider base when connected.
