61H128 Application Field and Working Principle

The 61H128 is powered by two AA batteries. It has the same physical dimensions as the 61H128’s predecessor, except that it has a slightly higher current consumption (3.5 mA) when operating. The 61H128 has three output channels: quadrature, index, and analog voltage. The quadrature output channel provides two signals, A and B, that are 90° out of phase. This output is used to track the speed and direction of rotation of the shaft.

The index output is a single pulse that is generated when the rotor goes through a mechanical index. This pulse is used to divide the shaft’s rotation into discrete steps for position tracking.
