Working Principle
The 62D30-02-050C works by emitting light from an LED within the encoder. A rotor disc with evenly spaced internal slots is then placed between the light emitter and a photodiode detector. As the disc rotates, slots allow the light to pass through and reach the photodiode detector, which generates a series of electrical pulses. The frequency of these pulses is proportional to the rotational speed of the disc and the number of slots on the disc determines the number of increments within one full rotation.
