It is based on the ISO/IEC 8291:1997 Safety of Electrical Installations for Domestic Use standard and also on the European Standard EN 50090:1996 Part 1: Installation and Maintenance Requirements for Signalling and Call progress on Electromechanical Domestic Phone Exchange.
