6A2-T Working Principle
The 6A2-T rectifier system works by taking an AC signal at an input and using a two-legged rectifying bridge across one phase of the signal. This bridge, made up of two diodes and at least one capacitor, takes the phase of the AC signal and converts it into a unidirectional signal or “half-wave rectified” waveform. The waveform will be of a negative polarity part of the time, switching to a positive polarity when the polarity of the input signal changes. Each diode will be forward biased; when the voltage across the diode is positive, current can flow. This positive current is then shorted to ground, and the negative non-conducting waveform is propagated out of the output of the 6A2-T rectifier system.
The rectified signal can be further processed, depending on the application of the 6A2-T. For power supplies, the AC signal is rectified and filtered by the capacitor, then connected to a transformer winding. This winding is electrically isolated from the incoming AC supply, making the voltage and current more accurately regulated for the load application.
