6S6-30V
The 6S6-30V is an electric bulb designed to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability. It is composed of four different elements: a tungsten filament, two tungstenized electrodes, a vaporized argon gas, and a boric acid filler material. In its most common form, the 6S6-30V is designed to be used in general lighting applications. The 6S6-30V has the ability to emit a warm, yellowish light similar to that of traditional incandescent bulbs, while consuming roughly 30% less energy than standard incandescent lamps.
Application
The 6S6-30V lamp is primarily used in incandescent and neon lighting applications such as residential and commercial lighting, accent lighting, and usage in other specialized locations such as theaters and casinos. It also has the ability to be used in other applications such as outdoor lighting, landscape lighting and display lighting, as well as in thermoses, medical instruments and industrial equipment.
Working Principle
The 6S6-30V lamp is powered by an electrical current which passes through the tungsten filament, heating it to an extremely high temperature. This temperature is necessary to heat the vaporized argon gas within the lamp which increases the pressure within, stimulating the electrons to jump from the heated filament (cathode) to the cooled electrode (anode). This electron movement produces a current flow throughout the lamp, which in turn gives off light.
The tungsten filament is then surrounded by a boric acid filler material which acts as an insulator. This material helps to extend the life of the lamp by protecting it from the extreme temperatures produced by the filament. The boric acid filler material also helps to bring out the full vibrancy of the 6S6-30V lamps light, as well as produces an even distribution and greater intensity than regular incandescent lamps.
