These modules improve process reliability, reduce component size and weight and offer high wattage for considerable temperature control.The 70200-504 Peltier Modules are designed with a unit comprising two ceramic layers, one containing bismuth telluride as a PN junction. This junction is electrically insulated by a silver alloy layer which is heated and cooled by applying a DC voltage. By monitoring the heat generated by the device, the modules can be operated without the need for cooling fans, enabling more reliable operation with less noise.The functionality of the 70200-504 Peltier Modules is based on the thermoelectric effect, a physical phenomenon in which a dissipated heat from one side of the module causes a heat transfer to the other side of the device, generating electrical energy. This electrical energy is represented as a voltage and current. Applying a voltage to the module creates a temperature difference between two points within the module, with the heat dissipated from the cooling side, and absorbed into the heating side.The applications of 70200-504 Peltier modules include temperature control in industrial and military grade products, incubators, battery packs, semiconductor cooling, medical applications, cryogenic storage and environmental testing. An example of an application is in incubators, where the heat is dissipated from the cold side, and absorbed into the hot side, to maintain a low-temperature environment.
