Common Mode Chokes
Common Mode Chokes, sometimes referred to as CM chokes, is a type of electromagnetic component used to limit the flow of voltage or current in a specific direction, or in Electronic Systems or Networks, they actually provide an electrical line filter for parasitic noise and interference in AC power or signal lines. The 7106-RC application field and working principle are just as same as other common mode chokes.7106-RC is a shielded common mode choke with a low DCR and high inductance rating. It is commonly used for applications such as switching power supplies, power line filters, and audio systems. This type of choke combines a flat spiral conductor element and an aluminium shield to form an effective filter, usually suitable for high frequency noise reduction.The 7106-RC works on a simple principle-if two conductors are connected in a circuit, the magnetic field generated will cause the electric flux to be distorted near the two conductors. This distortion of the magnetic field is called the common mode inductance, and it can produce inductance changes that reduce the transmission of EMI noise and interference. The 7106-RC uses this principle, by winding the two conductors together in a manner that reduces the common mode inductance, thereby eliminating the magnetic field created by the two conductors.The 7106-RC also has a second benefit, which is the ability to reduce the voltage drop across the winding, resulting in more efficient power delivery. Because of the shielding provided by the aluminium shield, the voltage drop across the winding is minimized, providing a higher-voltage output. This higher-voltage output can then be used to help reduce power consumption in power systems, or audio systems.The 7106-RC is also well-suited for other applications, such as medical and military use, where the need for high-performance filtering is critical. It is a high-specification, multi-purpose component that can be used in a variety of applications.The 7106-RC has several advantages over other types of shielding chokes, such as its simple, robust design and the reduced size, which make it an excellent choice for applications where space is limited.
