This plastic film is one of the most ubiquitous and versatile of the dielectrics used in the manufacturing of capacitors. Film capacitors are used in both AC and DC circuits, as well as for applications including noise suppression and filtering AC power, DC pre-charging, and coupling or decoupling AC and DC signals.
