The 715P27311NA3 is a film capacitor specifically designed for medium-voltage applications. It is widely used in industrial and consumer electronics, as well as in the medical, automotive, telecommunications and aerospace industries.The 715P27311NA3 has an improved capacitance stability, low noise level, and a very wide temperature operating range. The capacitance of the 715P27311NA3 is rated up to 330µF, and it has a maximum operating temperature rating of 175°C. The 715P27311NA3 is also available with self-healing short-circuit protection to ensure safe operation.The principle of operation of the 715P27311NA3 is relatively simple. The capacitor is composed of two metal electrodes which contain an insulating material between them. The dielectric, or insulating material, causes the electrodes to behave differently in an electric field. This difference in behavior allows the capacitor to store and discharge electrical energy as needed.When an electric field is applied to the 715P27311NA3, the two metal plates attract each other. This builds up a static electric charge on the plates which then creates an electric field in the surrounding area. This field stores energy in the capacitor and allows for an electrical current to pass through it. This electrical current then builds up an opposite field which holds the static charge in the capacitor and prevents it from dissipating. The strength and direction of the electric field are determined by the capacitance of the capacitor.Once the desired charge is achieved, the capacitor can then be discharged by allowing the current to flow in the opposite direction. This creates an opposite electric field which prevents the stored charge from dissipating and instead allows it to flow into the electrical system.The 715P27311NA3 is uniquely suited for applications that require a high amount of static charge storage and reliability over a wide temperature range.
