The working principle of 7281L15PA mainly centers around the master/slave operation. The internal read/write controller operates in the synchronous or asynchronous mode. When operating in the synchronous mode, the controller synchronizes the read/write operations with the clock signal. When operating in the asynchronous mode, the controller reads or writes based on the commands received by the controller directly or via external access. The 7281L15PA features three types of store commands that can be initiated by the controller: sync-store, sync-read-store and async-store. Sync-store is used to store data into a selected memory location, while sync-read-store is used to simultaneously read and store data. Async-store is performed when an external access is requested. It is a combination of both the sync-read-store and the asynchronous mode.In addition, the 7281L15PA includes an 8-bit read/write pointer, which is used to specify the memory addresses for data read or write operations. It is used to store and retrieve data from memory. The addresses written to the pointer get updated once the data is stored or restored from the memory. The 7281L15PA also includes a priority count code that can be used to select 8 separate addresses corresponding to each bit position. This feature allows the controller to access data at higher priority locations (i.e. address 0) before low priority locations (i.e. address 7).
