PTC Resettable Fuses

PTC resettable fuses are designed to protect circuits and components from excessive current flow. The 72R020XPR is a polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) device. The temperature coefficient of this device is relatively large, meaning that when the power supply circuit exceeds a predetermined current, the 72R020XPR will open the circuit to prevent further current flow.The 72R020XPR fuse is particularly useful in applications that require quick and easy resetting of circuits, such as in the automotive industry. The 72R020XPR will open and lock-out the circuit when the current exceeds its threshold, and then can be easily reset when the circuit is returned to the normal operating state.
